My Entrepreneurship Dilemma

For the past several weeks, I have been facing what I call my entrepreneurial dilemma. This dilemma has caused me great consternation and there has been many occasions where I have felt lost.

The main issue that my mind has been wrestling with is in what direction do I want to focus my entrepreneurial endeavours.

I have so many great ideas and dreams that I would love to implement and pursue. But I’ve discovered that sometimes you can have too many aspirations and that in turn leads one to not properly focus on what should be done.

I have read and heard many business experts say that you should become great at one thing, become an expert at it. Do it well, do it right and you will succeed.

I strongly believe in the above philosophy, however a part of me believes that you can still pursue other entrepreneurial endeavours while focusing the majority of your time and efforts on your main business.

This strategy was further encouraged in me after reading a recent article by Martin Zwilling read article which discusses the aforementioned concept, referring to such Entrepreneur’s as “Parallel” or “Multi-Table” Entrepreneurs.

I knew that there existed many entrepreneurs who operated more than one business simultaneously, but I didn’t know that there was a category for such individuals. That in itself was rather intriguing.

To compound my situation even further, was my involvement in the network marketing or multi-level marketing (MLM) realm. Now some may question the authenticity of whether or not MLM is entrepreneurship in the true sense of the word. That discussion may well be left for another article.

Nevertheless, I have built my network marketing business over the last few years and during this time, I have attained a certain level of success. More importantly, I have learned a great deal of information about business, leadership, relationship building and personal development strategies.

That being said, there has been one fundamental area that has been lacking in my MLM ventures. What has it been?

PASSION

I believe that the single most important trait to possess as an entrepreneur is passion. Without passion, all other aspects of starting and building your own business mean nothing bi came to realize that not only has my passion waned over the last several months, it has on fact disappeared.

This absence of passion is by no means a reflection of anything negative about the MLM industry or any company with which I became involved. Rather, it is solely as a result of new found passion and dedication to other traditional business models.

So it is with a heavy heart, but a new found vigor, that I bid farewell to my network marketing business and welcome

With this change in entrepreneurial direction, it was necessary for me to re think the concept of this blog. In the past, my blog was strictly in relation to providing MLM tips. That angle obviously cannot take centre stage.

Instead, I have elected to focus on traditional entrepreneurship in general, with specific emphasis on those individuals looking to take that entrepreneurial plunge.

Mind you, I am by no means a guru or expert in entrepreneurship. In fact, I would like us to take this entrepreneurial journey together, hence the title of my blog.

I hope that whatever information I impart on you, will aide in your quest for entrepreneurial success. I look forward to building a mutually rewarding business relationship with you.
